Chuck Chambers To me this album is the high water mark of 90’s DIY lo-fi. It hit on a very deep level at first listen and all these years later, it’s only gotten better and warms even deeper. Droning melancholy songs and experiments for short attention spans that radiate warmth and honesty. I always feel at peace when listening to Alastair’s music, but if I had to choose, this would be my favorite of his many wonderful albums. Favorite track: ember.

Gavin Hellyer This man is completely and almost criminally underrated. I reckon much of his work borders on genius. Favorite track: for free.

about

alastair galbraith Taieri Mouth, New Zealand

Thank you to Josh of otic.ca who has done a huge amount of work releasing Talisman on vinyl.
I've been releasing records since 1984 on labels ranging from xpressway and flying nun to table of the elements. But I most appreciate bandcamp digital sales, because they bring in pocket-money! and you see who bought what, and get to change anything the way you want. Yay Bandcamp ! ... more
